David Matas and David Kilgour today released new evidence confirming their conclusion that China has been killing Falun Gong practitioners so that their organs can be sold to transplant tourists. The new evidence takes the form of a video admission from Dr. Lu Guoping combined with a prior audio recording from the same doctor.
In the audio, the doctor admits that he and his colleagues went to prison to select Falun Gong practitioners for involuntary organ donations to be used in transplants. In the video, the doctor admits that he was the person interviewed in the audio recording. The video is being distributed by Chinese embassies and consulates; its authenticity is therefore endorsed by the Chinese government.
In a letter to the Chinese embassy in Canada, David Kilgour and David Matas wrote:
"Denial (of the abuse of organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners) in the face of such compelling evidence which has the official sanction of the Government is no longer an option. The only option which remains is ending this horrible crime."
The Falun Gong is an exercise regime with a spiritual foundation banned in China in 1999. David Kilgour released a report, first version July 2006, second version January 2007, concluding that Falun Gong practitioners since the year 2000 have been killed in the thousands for their organs.
